Judges comment: The use of a portrait format to exploit the drama of falling water has been successfully used by the photographer in this piece. The 'steps' from top right that move our gaze down and across the composition and finally to the foaming pool inject a beautifully lyrical note. It is almost monochrome in its treatment and I see that as a positive thing. However, 1 think a touch more sharpness in the stone fa~ade to the left of the falling water would have added a little more drama.
This is a most beautiful image of a waterfall. I love how you have captured the water some of it is flowing and other parts are frozen.
The rocks are just so cold and hard and jagged in places contrasting with the flow of the waterfall.
I love photographing waterfalls so I know how hard it is to do them justice.
